Release 2.3 of our ultra fast ultra fast, ultra safe and ultra reliable self-powered protection relay „WIC1 g2“ is here.

We are expanding the WIC1 g2 with new options for greater flexibility and safety:

• Extended Modbus communication (RTU & TCP) – now enables reading device parameters, significantly simplifying diagnostics, commissioning, and system integration while increasing operational transparency.

• DiggiMEC (Optional Nano HMI) – ready for immediate use: The WIC1 is preconfigured at the factory for use with a DiggiMEC. LEDs, indicators, and output relays are provided in a proven standard configuration – even when using DIP or HEX switches (WIC1-2, WIC1-3).

• Robust pulse output “TC” (trip coil) – the internal control has been further optimized, providing significantly improved robustness against wiring errors and short circuits, and ensuring greater safety in daily operation.

• Optimized software and system processes: targeted improvements further enhance overall stability, reliability, and operational safety.

Das Software‑Release 2.3 bringt zahlreiche neue funktionale Erweiterungen und gezielte Optimierungen, die die Anwendungsbereiche noch effizienter und komfortabler gestalten:

• Erweiterte Modbus‑Kommunikation (RTU & TCP) - Ermöglicht jetzt das Lesen von Geräteparametern, damit wird die Diagnose, Inbetriebnahme und Systemintegration deutlich vereinfacht und die Transparenz im Betrieb erhöht.

• DiggiMEC – sofort einsatzbereit: Das WIC1 ist ab Werk für die Verwendung eines DiggiMEC vorparametriert. LEDs sowie Schauzeichen‑ und Ausgangsrelais stehen damit in einer bewährten Standardkonfiguration zur Verfügung – auch bei Nutzung von DIP‑ oder HEX‑Schaltern (WIC1‑2, WIC1‑3).

• Robuster Impulsausgang „TC“ (Auslösespule): Die interne Ansteuerung wurde weiter optimiert und sorgt für eine deutlich erhöhte Robustheit gegenüber Verdrahtungsfehlern und Kurzschlüssen und für mehr Sicherheit im täglichen Betrieb.

• Optimierte Software‑ und Systemabläufe: Gezielte Verbesserungen erhöhen noch einmal nachhaltig die Gesamtstabilität, Zuverlässigkeit und Betriebssicherheit.

SEG WIC1 g2 selfpowered Protection Relay – Now KEMA certified!

Our ultra fast, ultra safe and ultra reliable self-powered protection relay „WIC1 g2“ has now been approved by KEMA Labs. All four variants have successfully passed the full KEMA Labs certification. This is not only further confirmation of the highest quality and reliability of our relays, but also underlines the standards we set at SEG Electronics for our medium-voltage protection technology: The achieved values and the overall performance of our WIC1 g2 comply with the EN IEC 60255 standards and justify the rated values specified by SEG.
